2020 FALL TENNIS WORKOUTS REVISED: 11/9/20 Update AACPS has suspended ALL in-person sports trainings due to the increasing COVID-19 infection rate. If the rate decreases, we may be able to start our Fall Tennis Workouts. You will be advised if this changes. In the meantime, we will hold three VIRTUAL Tennis Training sessions per week until we get back on court. Monday 4:30-5, Wednesday 11-11:30, and Friday 4:30-5.

REVISED FALL TENNIS WORKOUTS- Monday November 16 through Saturday December 5.

When we are given the OK to start on-site tennis training, the plan will be THREE (1 1/2 hours) sessions per week 3:15- 4:45 and ONE virtual Google Classroomm tennis training session on Wednesdays (11:00-11:30). Maximum of FOUR people per outdoor tennis court. Saturdays are reserved for weather cancellations (TBD). In order to participate in the fall workout program, you must register on the Family ID web site and be approved by the GBHS Athletic Director. For the Fall On-Court Workout, your physical must be dated on or after November 15, 2019 or later (a physical is not needed for the virtual training).

The Spring Season Interscholastic Tennis Team format will be: 2 boys singles, 2 girls singles, 2 boys doubles, 2 girls doubles, and 1 mixed doubles. An athlete may only play in ONE of the preceding. The best two out three sets format will be used (no ad scoring and third set 10 point tiebreak). Exhibition doubles and singles matches will also be played when courts open up. Most interscholastic matches will be scheduled on either Tuesdays/Thurdays, or Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays TBD.

We'd like to remember Bob Hough, a former GBHS Tennis Team athlete, who passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 46. Hough was a 1992 graduate of GBHS and an influential former high school sports reporter at the Capital and Maryland Gazette newspapers for 25 years. Here's a link to more information:
