Track at District V Challenge
The Gophers competed at the District V Challenge yesterday at Northeast High school. The meet was postponed and eventually cancelled roughly halfway through the meet.
After 9 events, the girls were in 11th (out of 24) place. Rhoda Alaban Tafon’s 2nd place finish and the 4×200’s 4th place finish secured 13 total points. There were massive PRs for the Gophers – including Claire Holman’s 20 second PR in the mile and Lakira Brooks’s 3 foot PR in triple jump.
While the boys were unable to earn points before the meet was cancelled, there were also strong performances on the men’s side. Kamal Milma had personal records in both long jump and his 400m dash. Joel Ukpelegbu also ran a personal best in his 400 while Gary Killiebrew ran a personal best in the 100m dash.
